Gifford`s Famous Ice Cream in Waterville

Horrible... bought 3 reg frappes.. and 1 ice cream cone. The ice cream on the cone was so soft that it had to b eaten with a spoon. The frappes.. were more like drinking a cup of milk. 25.00 for the worst ice cream I've ever had. Never again !

Love Giffords! So many fun flavors. The staff is always nice and mini golf is so fun. Try a pothole Sundae!

the icecream was great and the prices were ok...but the wait time in line could have been better. if we had small children with us, we'd have left and gone to DQ. seems like they should have had 3 windows open.

Always fantastical ice cream, except the servers kept dispensing cones on the verge of breaking and tables haven't been wiped down. It was a hot day around the time everyone would be getting home from work, so I'm not too surprised.

Great spot for ice cream and mini golf

We played mini golf there on 8/8 and had fun time,however, we wanted ice cream and they only had one kid working. There were 20 people in line and it was the wait would be long, so we left....and so did 10 other people. Poor management!!

The ice cream is all made locally, the flavors and service are both fantastic. The milk shakes come in the flavor of any of their ice creams, so yummy!

Delicious ice cream and a fabulous mini golf course. Shaded (by trees) picnic tables for seating. A great place to spend part of a summer day.

Their new peanut-butter-caramel-cookie dough flavor is pretty good! Long lines right now with COVID but worth the wait. Picnic tables are available and looks like a great place to bring kids for ice cream and mini golf! Very polite staffing as well :)

The choices for flavors is almost staggering! It will take a while to try them all but it will be worth it. They also do a doggie I've cream with either hard it soft serve and a small milk bone. My dog loves to come here and hang out. One day I'll have to try the minigolf and review again.

Product is very good. However, the employees at this waterville location need an attitude adjustment of the highest magnitude.

Super good ice cream and you have mini golf and batting cages

Not happy went there for my daughter's birthday the website said they closed at 9 but I got there at five minutes of eight and they said they were closed and would not let us golf. Not very happy about the service.

Love it just a bit pricey for what you get.

Great ice cream however they do have some improvements to work on.It's 90+ degrees with over 70% humidity. They have a lot of windows however only 2 or 3 are open. The staff is good about moving the line as fast as possible. Almost every time I have gone there last year and just today I never receive what I order. Today for example I ordered a large Sunday, hot fudge, whip cream, nuts, cherry. This time I get no buts. Small issue however we order what we like we are paying $6 you should receive what you ordered. The whipped cream was melting or breaking down even as they were handing it to you.

Even on a cold and blustery day, there were so many people eating ice cream in their cars!! People smiling at you because.... What's not to smile about ice cream??!! Friendly people scooping for you and LOTS of flavors to choose from. What a yummy place to gather. There is also miniature golf and batting cages, if you want to work the calories off!

Ice cream typical Giffords..excellent. Service, NOT WORTH THE 15 MIN WAIT. WOW. Only two young girls working. 15 min for a scoop of ice cream. I see this not lasting. This Giffords has a little sentiment to me as I used to live in the house they tore down for this stand...but I may not return. 15 min waiting for a scoop of ice cream. NO.. NOT THAT many customers..JUST SSSLLLOOOOWWW service. Turtle SLOW. And to think I tipped the gal when I ordered. Mistake.

Loved the ice cream! We enjoyed a cookie dough in a waffle cone and a peanut butter parfait and traditional vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. All were well worth it.

Slow service but worth the wait. This ice cream is next level! I highly suggest lobster tracks!

Best ice cream in town!

The ice cream is delicious but the service I received was far from excellent customer service. One of the girls that worked the second window pretended to clean her area for over 2 minutes while I waited to be served. I felt she was avoiding having to take my order. So the girl in the first window had to take my order because the line was starting to get long. I’m sure the customers witnessed her reluctance to take my order. I waited and ate my ice cream in the parking lot to ensure I wasn’t being overly sensitive about the issue but her rapidness in waiting all the other white guests behind me proved that she just didn’t want to take my order. I’ll go to Bangor before I ever come back here again.

I really love this place not only for the ice cream but the mini golf and batting cages. I do get a little grouchy waiting in line for ice cream.....always a line. Be prepared to wait.

Mini golf is a lot of fun, then cool down after with great ice cream! The only downfall here is if you come on the weekends you might wait in line for awhile but they do have multiple order windows to help it move along.

If you're in the area and looking for something sweet then you must try Giffords Famous Icecream place. It seems to be a popular location which does make waiting in line a bit long, yet the atmosphere is spot on along with the icecream. If you haven't visited this place yet, I'd make it a pitstop for this summer season for sure.

The lot was FULL. There were three bus loads of camp kids and 4-5 more passenger vans with the buses. We were still able to park, order our desserts, and the employees were awesome. Ice cream was delivered to us very quickly. Great experience, even under what could have been trying circumstances.

Great place to spend time with family. Mini golf is 6.00 p.p. under 4yo is free. Fairly reasonable. And they have specials throughout the week. Staff is friendly but it does take some time to get your ice cream. So be prepared to wait. But the ice creams, ices, milkshakes and more are all worth the wait in flavor. Just wish they had cheaper priced and/or smaller options. Great place to spend a day.

Gifford's is a stop we must make every year. We play mini golf and then get amazing ice cream. The dipped waffle cones are my kids favorites. The price is great!

Great ice cream! We have been there 4 or 5 times already this summer. The staff are nice, but not fast. We haven't been in a hurry, so no big deal.

Amazing ice cream. Definitely worth the price! Parking can be a hassle when all the summer camp kids drop in, but it just adds to the lively-ness of summer nights.
